The Wedding Dresser

A Wedding Dresser is responsible for making sure ALL members of the wedding party are ready to go down the aisle. This may be pressing or steaming a tux, retying a tie, scuffing the bottom of new shoes to keep from slipping on the carpet, making any final adjustments to the wedding gown or helping the Mother of the Bride into her dress, all the while telling of wedding lore - why is there a train on the dress, why do members of the party carry flowers or where did the "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue" come from? These are but a few of the responsibilities that this service offers. Simply, it is whatever it takes to get the Bride and party down the aisle with the least amount of stress. Wedding Dresser Service usually is 2 ½ hours prior to the wedding and 30 minutes after the service to bustle the gown and check the rest of the party for the ensuing festivities. This is flexible depending on the timing of the pictures and service.

Learn to Sew

If you have sewn in the past or are interested in learning to sew, Dianne would love to teach you.  The lessons are in your home and the focus is on what you want to learn.  The in-home arrangement is for your benefit.  I liken this to going to a lecture, then going back to the office or your home and finding it difficult utilize what you have just learned because you generally do not have the same equipment the instructor had or your equipment will not do what hers did.  Consequently, your home with your equipment has proven the most beneficial arrangement for you.  You can determine how many hours or how much instruction you would like or need.  Remember, this time is for you.

Wrapped in Memories

Ever wanted to make something from your favorite t-shirts?  AFC can create a quilt using those t-shirts.  The backing will be in your favorite color with the panes of the windows in your next favorite color.  What a wonderful graduation gift, Christmas gift or just because gift!  Please allow 3 months for the creation of a cherished present!

Just for Fun

This category is just that – it will encompass anything from a garter for the bride made from fire hose, to repairing a favorite stuffed toy the family dog ravished, wine bottle covers, onesy as a newborn gift, or just about anything fun to do.  You think it up, AFC will make every attempt to create it!

Softsided Luggage

This area of AFC’s services is quite specialized.  (Please see the gallery)  Although the sizes and colors are a bit limited, if you are looking for a durable piece of luggage, have us make you one.  This will be the perfect gift for the son or daughter going off the college or that special someone (could be you!) who loves to travel.  Some adjustment can be made on these pieces but generally they come in certain colors and sizes.  Asked to see the catalog.

Men’s Accessories

Need a gift or would like to add something special to your wedding for your men?  Ties and cumberbuns can be made to match or contrast with the bridesmaids and colors of the wedding.  Aside from wedding accessories, if you or a fellow you know needs special shirts made due to size, color or fabric content, they can be special ordered.  Men’s alterations are always welcome!
